The Guardian G1101 EyeSafe Faucet-Mounted Eyewash station converts nearly any faucet into an eyewash station - but does not interfere with the normal operation of the faucet. The EyeSafe unit can be installed in any sink where accidents might occur. This unit can be quickly located and activated in an emergency and provides an unlimited supply of potable water for the eyes. The Eye wash mount has outlet heads that are mounted 5" apart. Delivers a soft aerated flow of water. The heads angle forward towards the user. The angle of the heads is adjustable to provide full coverage and avoid splashing. The station has a forged brass diverter valve. Pull the knob to activate and water pressure holds eyewash in operation that leaves the users hands free. Push knob or turn off the faucet to return to normal faucet operation.
The body has 55/64"-27 female thread. The eyewash is furnished with 3 adapters (15/16"-27, 13/16"-27 and 3/8" IPS) for installing on most faucets - including laboratory-type faucets. The unit is furnished with a removable aerator on the bottom and the unit is water tested prior to shipment.
Important: Faucet-mounted eyewashes, whether manufactured by Guardian Equipment or other companies, require two motions to operate (turn on water, pull knob to activate eyewash flow). Therefore, Guardian does not believe that these units meet the provisions of ANSI Z358.1-2009 as eyewash units. These units are intended solely as supplemental units in addition to dedicated, plumbed eyewash equipment installed in the workplace.
Faucet-mounted eyewashes should be used with cold or warm water only. Use of hot water might cause scalding.
