Safety goggles provide better impact, dust, and chemical splash protection than safety glasses because they fit snugly to the face. Goggles provide protection from objects coming from above, below, and the sides. They can be used as protection for impact hazards, heat hazards, dust, and, when properly tinted, optical radiation hazards. Lenses in most goggles are designed to resist moderate impact.
